LetterSperber Dentistry prides itself on being a dentist for the entire family. Your child’s first dental visit can influence them for years to come, so to ensure a fun, relaxed experience for them we invite children to first come and watch one or two of mom or dad’s appointments. This helps your child feel more at ease during their own appointment.
Around your child’s first birthday, once teeth have erupted, it is time for their first visit to the dentist! First visits are generally focused on getting your child used to the dentist chair and acquainted with the dental team. During this initial visit, we begin by giving them a ride in the chair, peeking in their mouth with a mirror, counting teeth and introducing them to dental instrument sounds. Around age 2 or 3, once they have become comfortable with visiting the dentist, they may be ready for their very own teeth cleaning appointment.
By starting at this early age, you will help your child build a lifetime of good dental habits! We are looking forward to meeting your family and are excited that you are proactive in the health and dental care of your child.
